This is 100% estate fruit from Geisenheimer Kilsberg, a tremendous vineyard adjacent to the Grand Cru site ‘Rothenberg.’ There is plenty of broadness to this wine coupled with the extraordinary length and precision.
Fresh pear, apricot, and nutmeg, which migrate to an alluringly creamy palate, to which toasted praline, orange rind, and peach kernel supply a rather bittersweet cast that persists into a considerable finish. Despite the richness to this wine there is plenty of nerve.
