Wine Review: This opaque and very dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon opens with a very fragrant strawberry, cranberry and rhubarb bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, rich, smooth and fruit forward. The flavor profile is an extracted strawberry and blueberry blend with notes of black cherry. The finish is nicely extended with moderate tannins. This Cab would pair well with steak tips. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Make no mistake – Bonanza is not Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet. Yet we are proud to be introducing this multi-vintage California-appellation Cabernet Sauvignon. A vibrant garnet red, this wine opens with a round, warm nose of creme de cassis, milk chocolate and fresh plums. Notes of brown spice, the toastiness of a campfire, hints of pomace and delicate floral scents lend subtle interest. The palate mimics the nose, Entry is smooth, with a balance of ripeness and freshness carrying throughout. The complete finish offers a trace of leather with echoes of cassis, chocolate and finely gritty tannins.
