The historic Pagliarese estate is neighbor to Felsina and Castell'in Villa. In 1995, the Poggiali family, owners of Fèlsina, replanted the vineyard from a selection of property’s oldest vines. 2015 marked the first release from the new estate. Here, Sangiovese is blended with small amounts of Canaiolo (for softness) and Mammolo (floral and spice). It is aged in neutral Slavonian oak botti. The result is a juicy and refined wine, filled with dark fruits. Organic.
JS92: A rich and juicy Chianti Classico with lots of dark-fruit and walnut-skin character, as well as hints of hazelnuts. Medium to full body, round and velvety tannins and a flavorful finish.
VM91: The 2016 Chianti Classico is a powerful wine. Unlike most Chianti Classicos, the 2016 Pagliarese is going to need at least a few years to be at its best. Today, 2016 exudes a classic sense of austerity that needs time to resolve. A range of earthy and savory notes give the 2016 its distinct personality
