2021 BODEGAS EL NIDO 'CLIO', JUMILLA SPAIN

Clio Jumilla, produced by Bodegas El Nido from the famous winemaker Juan Gill, comes from 64-year-old vineyards and has been aged in wood for 24 months. Absolute topper from the Jumilla region in Spain (vinified by grandmaster Chris Ringland (at Parker good for 100/100). The wine is very scarce and almost impossible to obtain in the Netherlands. Despite the price, this is compared to other wines with the same quality is still unique and a 'bargain' from that point of view.

The quality immediately jumps out of the glass when the aroma hits: earthy, mushroom, leather, blueberry and blackcurrant jam. The taste is also very complex but smooth at the same time, in which we find blue and black currants, some herbs and a light pepper. Powerful wine with exceptional balance and length. Breathtaking wine of a very high level which even goes a bit towards a Port wine.
