Hanzell utilizes young estate vine parcels for their Sebella bottling, which will one day be included in their flagship Pinot Noir. The style of this bottling celebrates the purity and focus of youthful fruit. The precise profile is allowed to shine by virtue of its vinification and barrel aging in French oak. As a second wine, Sebella is far from simple, and its virtue shows most clearly on the persistence of finish which out-classes many flashier Pinot Noir bottlings on the market. Winemaker's Notes: "Impressively steeped in both red and black fruits of pomegranate, Bing cherry, blackberry preserves and blood orange. Damp earth and rare meat provide com-plexity and interest. Rich, intense and juicy in the mouth with plenty of fine textured tannins offer some grip. Great to drink now, but has the structure to cellar for those so inclined."
