2018 FONTODI CHIANTI CLASSICO, TUSCANY ITALY

The Chianti Classico from, esteemed producer Fontodi, is a blend different plots of Sangiovese grown on the 90ha estate vineyards in the south-facing amphitheatre known as Conca d’Oro (Golden shell). Vineyards are farmed organically and stony galestro soils allow for excellent drainage and encourage deep rooting vines. The quality of the Sangiovese ameliorates the need for blending with Merlot or other varieties and this 100% Sangiovese Chianti shows great varietal character and a depth of flavour.
