A very special, slightly sparkling white wine produced entirely in the province of Gipuzkoa in the Basque Country, requires an individual name: txakoli. Its quality is certified by the Getariako Txakolina Designation of Origin, which ensures that Agerre txakoli is produced in its entirety with grapes grown in our vineyards in Getaria and that the wine-making process has taken place in full at our winery.The Agerre family’s 15 hectares of vineyards are planted on hillsides overlooking the medieval fishing village of Getaria and the Bay of Biscay, just a few miles from Spain’s gastronomic capital, San Sebastián. Emilio Agerre is the third generation of his family to make traditional-style Txakoli from the Hondarrabi Zuri grape variety.
