2011 BODEGAS CUEVAS JIMENEZ FERRATUS SENSACIONES, RIBERA DEL DUERO SPAIN

Ferratus Sensaciones is a red wine produced by Ferratus from the Tinta del País (or Tempranillo) variety in Castilla y León.

Ferratus consists of a project that Familia Cuevas Jiménez embarked upon over 15 years ago with the intention of extracting the maximum splendour of the Tinta del País variety, i.e. the name for the Tempranillo variety when planted in Ribera de Duero. Headed by María Luisa Cuevas, it has taken effort, time and perseverance to be able to bring quality wines to the market.

Ferratus Sensaciones is a monovarietal wine made solely with the Tempranillo variety extracted from Pago de Santa Cruz de La Horra (in Burgos). Grapes from vineyards between 60 and 70 years old that are planted trained in bush style and harvested by hand into 15kg boxes.

Once in the cellar, a double selection is performed on the grape selection table. Ferratus Sensaciones undergoes alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, malolactic fermentation in oak barrels and ageing in new French oak barrels for at least 15 months.
